I would like to suggest you create a new Blank database and check whether you can resize the Navigation Pane. If the issue persists, could you provide a screenshot to let me know the detailed version and update channel of Office so that I can do some tests? If the issue only occurs during using the Splitter Control, I apologize first as I still cannot find an instruction article of using the Splitter Control in Access, do you mean Split an Access database? If this is not the case, may I know more related information about the Splitter Control and the Access version?

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. Thanks for the response. There is no user Splitter Control in the toolbox. If I create a new DB, I can resize the panel.

But the DB that I received, I cannot. If I import all of the data into a new DB, it will not resize. However, if I move the Splitter before I import, then it seems to work just fine. Who would have guessed. I am sure this was not the intended behavior. I did some tests on the exact same version of the Monthly Channel in Access but cannot reproduce this issue. I would like to share my test steps for your reference, you may check whether the issue persists if you perform the same steps.

For the sender, create a Blank database, input some sample data on the default Table1. Save the file and send it to another user. For the receiver, in the Access client with the latest version of Monthly Channel, open the received file and click Enable Content, then drag the Splitter Control to resize the Navigation Panel and couldn’t find any issue.

If you have tried similar steps as above but the issue persists, may I know more related information about this issue? What are the detailed version and the update channel of Office used by another user who sends you the DB files? Meanwhile, you may try to Open A ccess in safe mode and check the results. Save and Close Access application.

Find the shortcut icon of Access. Click Yes when a window appears asking if you want to start Access in Safe Mode. Thanks for taking the time to do some investigation on this. As I stipulated in my original message, brand new MDBs do not show this behavior. So I would suspect that the test you suggested will work and show nothing to solve the issue. A better solution in my estimation would be for me to send you a copy of one of the problematic MDBs.

In this way you can confirm by opening it, if it is a problem with my Machine or the MDB. I think this is a more direct route and will yield some leads to solving the problem. Let me know your thoughts. You are right, that would be my next suggestion. I planned to ask for a copy of the newly created DB as there don’t have or contain the least private data. That bug was making me psychotic! Saturday, October 12, AM. Thursday, October 17, AM. Confirmed that the bug appears in Access as well.
